The Ping head is heavier than others on the market. I would think that would affect your swing speed. I’ve seen Rick hit a lot of 300 yard drives in my life. I’m not seeing it here. 😒

Maybe Rick should explain the fitting process a little more clearly so everyone has clear understanding of what is offered. It is not just a means of taking your stats and then fitting a putter for you ie. length, lie, face balance etc. Ping will take your stats and then guide you in to the putter that suits your technique. Some of those putters certainly will not be available at retail. Then you have choices of different metals, carbon or stainless steel. Then you’re choosing your milling based on what you prefer in feel. Then you have different hosel configurations, centre shafted, double bend, plumbers neck, and more. Not available at retail. Then you have different finishes which are varied( check out Viktor Hovlands putter, carbon and patina finish. It rusts.) And it is not available at retail. Then you have different weights. Adding tungsten weight. Different brand stamping, plus your own customised stamping as well. Assortment of grips and so on. Even for his original putter. If he chose raw carbon with black finish, that putter will rust. If he chose stainless steel with black finish, it will not. He probably chose the metal based on feel. He would/should have been advised that it will rust. All of these are choices that a tour player can make and now us average Joes have the opportunity to do so as well. Costs a bomb, yes, but what is more ridiculous is those who pay through the roof and more for Cameron Circle T putters that are not even built for them. I think Ricks explanation of the experience is quite poor and not reflective of the whole process. That could be improved as well, as this is beyond a regular fitting for a custom club with some personal stamps added on.

Last week I brought a G2 at a carboot for £10 ! .. took it the range 💥 … all I’m gonna say is you can keep ya fancy looking over priced drivers yeah they look beautiful and yeah the G2 is dog ugly but it goes a mile and so forgiving, I have the G425 in a box ready to return ( that’s cos of a dent in the head ) .. Rick do a G2 v ping recent bet the results are surprising 🤓

Check avg deviation club head speed. G430 was ~110mph. G425 ~108mph. £100 per 1mph difference. 😂 great video.

5:45 The Ping’s CHS is likely slower than the Cobra because it’s a heavier head, which is part of what makes it stable.

I have both. Bought the 430 max literally because of how awful the 425 sounded. Not as much on the course but in an enclosed driving range bay it was a loud piercing noise that hurt my ears.

Over past 6/7 months..ive tried all the 10k moi clubs,on trackman,quad etc with my pro..Darkspeed,AIsmoke,Ping 430/10k,etc etc etc..not one of them were of ANY good to me,64..off 11.....my Ping 425sft..blew every one of them out the water,distance,dispersion etc etc..pro told me to SAVE my money on the overpriced heavily marked up new drivers..its all bs...no offence..3 years ive had it..tried everything else..itll be in my bag firever

Rick with you simulator can you put a real hole one instead of a massive wide open space. Think with some tress or a lake one a hole makes it more realistic for us average golfers and also make you concentrate a bit more

When you hit this g425 3 years ago, you had same ball speed and launch but 1000rpm less spin, You were carrying it 282yds and 306yds total. What a difference spin makes if you could get that down again...

Can you do this between the g430max and the max 10k?

the irony of ping drivers is in the sound... for a company who was founded off the noise a ball makes off the putter face, you would think they'd stick with that ideology throughout all their clubs...

Based on the 2 Pings in the thumbnail? Absolutely. I saw virtually no difference when I tested the new one directly against my G425 Max in the shop on a GC Quad. But yes, Rick’s right. It IS harder to swing fast. In virtually any other driver I can push close to 120 MPH swing speed. But my best swings w/the 425 Max only usually crank up to about 116 MPH. I live in the 111-116 MPH range w/it on the course, but it’s just so dang forgiving.

Buying new clubs is fine.. Just stop upgrading all the time.. Clubs should last minimum 5 years.

I don't think anyone would expect much of a difference between these 2. Where is the LST? the Max driver really isn't designed for you.

I don't know why but I sprayed the G425 Max compared to my G430 LST (same shaft), I think I hit my G30 more consistently than the G425, maybe I had a dud.

I thinks it's funny that you took the time to show us that your set says 1 of 500.....but at least 2 other channels(EmbersGolf and BunkeredGolf) unboxed and tested the SAME clubs and both of their sets also said 1 of 500. Something is fishy. 💩💩💩

I bought the G425 Max 2 months ago. It is the best driver out there for the average joe who doesn't want to spend $600

U have such a great swing, I love it! Don’t ’now if anyone’s mentioned it to you Rick, but ur highest speed looks like it’s behind the ball a bit instead of at the ball or after. When you get ur smashers you tend to have the highest speed part closer to the ball… (All from looks watching most of ur videos) Doing what u do is great cause it will keep the face closed and give to more of a draw with control, it’s beautiful! But just something I noticed and I bet you could get an extra 20 30 yards from your driver by just timing the speed of ur swing a bit later. Ur awesome Rick, I absolutely love ur channel! Why wouldn't you use the 10K for this comparison? Makes no sense to me. "But the *sound*". Honestly Rick, you drive me absolutely crazy with this. I get that in this case the 2 performed the same, but in all other cases, when you're trying to break 75 or make a cut, who gives a flying fuck what it looks, feels, or sounds like. All that matters is performance, and the sooner you stop caring about how cool your club looks or sounds the sooner you can start moving towards your goals.

I shoot around 95 no matter what I play with. Does not matter. Pro golfers can shoot par with any clubs

Or just get a used cobra.. sounds great plays fine...

The 430max was just fill in driver till ping worked out the carbon crown on the 430 10k. Should of reviewed the 10k

425 max turned my driving from a hindrance to a strength…obviously did some work on the swing, but as soon as you grab the club you shave strokes

Go with the LST model, this seems to be the wrong head for your game.

Have you tried using hot melt in any of your drivers? It will make it sound more solid and not so loud. You should experiment on a future video.

The difference year to year between drivers, and really any clubs is marginal for good players and even less for the average golfer. Plus, golf equipment is durable so they should last for many years.

What a garbage video. Almost without fail Rick will review a driver with the expectation that the ball Carrie’s around 280 and rolls out to 300 yards. This video shows both drivers reaching a roll out of around 280. Did Rick drink too much last night or slip a disk in his back recently? Why would he have that PING in the bag if he was ‘searching for more distance’ previously and that PING was getting him 280 total? This just shows how bogus these club comparisons can be from content providers (unless the Cobra Dark Speed he finally landed on as the longest driver ever, by far). This video just highlighted how lane these club comparison videos are. The only merit I will give this video is with the concept that we should all look to purchase drivers as they are being replaced by newer models for significantly less money. That idea has real credibility…….Rick’s effort and true insight into driver technology does not have much credibility. Seems like he needs to up his game and content or just do what the whores and jackballs and My Golf Spy have turned into.

Both driver carry the same distance, 263 yards. Therefore, buy the cheaper one, the older model. Newer is NOT always better.

I have the G425 LST. Only niggle is the noise.
